The AR 502 is designed
for the no-frills racer who wants the most reliable, clear race intercom
at the best price. The AR 502 is a scaled down version of our AR 510
Trophy Truck Intercom.
Versatile and flexible, Avcomm's Easylink™ design connects Driver and
Co-Driver to a radio instantly. The “side tone" feature of the AR 502
allows the driver to hear what instructions the co-driver is telling the
main pit, aircraft and chase vehicles. Side tone also prevents yelling
because the driver or
co-driver can hear themselves in the helmet or headset speakers. Only
Avcomm has the proprietary filtering and audio contouring to allow side
tone with the low noise advantages of no side tone. With a panel mount
faceplate there is no need for an additional weld-in brackets and your
dash will have a professional finished look. The AR 502 uses surface
mount components for the most vibration proof intercom ever. Elastomer
gaskets and O Rings assure water will never get inside.
The AR 502 also has a transmit and "Stuck Mic" indicator to assure an
open channel and keep the Weatherman happy.
Radio connection with audio adjustment is transformer based for
compatibility with most major brands of headsets, helmets, handhelds,
mobile radios, or any combination or microphone (electret, dynamic,
amplified, non-amplified, or even throat mics).
The AR 502 incorporates two 3.5-watt amplifiers capable of driving any
impedance Speaker, Headset, Custom Ear Molds. There is plenty of audio
headroom for the loudest of Off-Road vehicles. There is no need for PTT
adapters as the AR 502 has long PTT Pigtails which allow the use of
Avcomms Nascar type RF shieled Push-to-Talk buttons.
The AR 502 has been developed and tested in the desert with direct input
from racers to our engineers. The AR 502 has had excellent success and
used in the Baja 1000, Vegas to Reno and the Parker 425.

AVCOMM System requires wiring of microphone and speakers in your helmets or use of Headsets with boom microphones.
Each system is "CUSTOM BUILT" for your application.
All connectors and cables are of MIL SPEC QUALITY.
AVCOMM System, when utilized with a two way radio, allows driver and co-driver to communicate to each other, through their helmets. Nothing goes "out over the air" Unless the Push to talk switch is depressed. Intercom is compatible with most makes and models of commercial and marine radios.
System is designed to work with or without a radio. This will enable Rally Racers, desert sand buggies and others that wish communications between driver and rider to obtain a system that is CUSTOM BUILT for their needs, without the additional expense of purchasing a two way radio.
